Bernhard Langer continued his strong play at the SAS Championship with his second consecutive 5-under 67. He holds a two shot lead over first round leader Doug Garwood and Larry Mize.

Currently in a commanding lead in the Charles Schwab Cup standings, Langer once again finds himself in the final pairing on a Sunday after a four-hole birdie streak to finish out his round. This was Langer’s 18th consecutive sub-par round.

Garwood got off to a shaky start with a double bogey on the first hole, and was up and down the rest of the day. He ended up shooting a 1-under 71.

Mize played nearly flawless golf, his only mistake was missing an easy par putt on the par-3 seventeenth hole. Before that bogey Mize had a streak of 60 straight bogey-less holes.

Playing in his tenth SAS Championship, Jeff Sluman bounced back from a first hole bogey with a birdie on the par-4 second hole, which lead to a streak of four straight birdies. A miss on a very short par putt on the par-3 seventeenth hole put a damper on his round, but is only three shots back of Langer.

Sitting in a tie for eighth place, Dan Forsman has played himself into a Wildcard spot. If he can stay in the top ten tomorrow and finish higher than both Brad Faxon or Michael Bradley, he will be playing at the QQQ PowerShares Championship next week.

Coming into the day in second place, Faxon dropped all the way down to 16th place after shooting a 3-over par 75. He has put himself in jeopardy of missing the Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs unless he can sneak into the top ten and finish above Dan Forsman tomorrow.

The first hole proved once again to be the hardest hole on the golf course with a scoring average of 4.350. The par-5 fourth hole was the easiest with a total of twenty seven birdies and an eagle from Mike Springer.
