CARY, N.C. (September 1, 2015) – PNC Bank and the SAS Championship presented by Bloomberg Businessweek are proud to announce the first PNC Family Challenge Clinic taking place Saturday, Oct. 10. The PNC Family Challenge Clinic will provide families the unique opportunity to participate together after watching the second round of the tournament at Prestonwood Country Club. The PNC Family Challenge Clinic a part of the Official Champions Tour event celebrating its 15th anniversary in Cary.
“We are delighted to provide families the opportunity to create lasting memories with the legends from the PGA TOUR,” said PNC Regional President Jim Hansen. “The PNC Father/Son Challenge event in Orlando has become a community tradition and we’re looking forward to establishing a history here in Cary that gives families and fans plenty of reasons to celebrate.”
The 90 minute clinic will include instruction on putting, chipping, driving, and iron play from Carolinas PGA Section teaching professionals based at courses throughout the area. The clinic will culminate with meet & greets, autographs, and a Q&A session with SAS Championship competitors who have previously competed in the PNC Father-Son Challenge or who are scheduled to compete in the annual two-person team event taking place in Orlando, Florida. The event has been has been won by multiple players who’ve played in the SAS Championship including Bernhard Langer (‘14, ’06, ‘05), Larry Nelson (‘08, ’07, ‘04), Hale Irwin (2003) and Craig Stadler (2002).

It’s not too often you get an opportunity like this and we’re thrilled about the special experience PNC has created for our fans and their families.”
The clinic is free to attend and will begin at 2:30 p.m. on the driving range at Prestonwood. Advanced registration is required and is available online at SASChampionship.com. Both parents and children are invited to attend. Parents have the option to participate in the clinic along with their child or to observe, children must be at least 8 years old to partake in the clinic.
